the ONLY General Lee that ever had a 426 was in the 2005 movie... and that was just put in for the scene of the engine.. in reality the cars varied mostly 318s, 383s, and 1 or 2 440s in the movie. The series used 318s for the short jump cars, 440s and 383s for long jumps, and they had at least 1 with a 360 that was used for high speed scenes... until 1 day when they were short on cars and jumped it, much to the dismay of the car builder.
